In “Fooling Yourself” S5 / E 71 of I Took a Right Turn: We open up talking about the weather here in the Promised Land, we’re moved out from under what our weatherman has promised is this summer’s last Heat Dome with extreme heat and humidity. And now the Latter Rains have come. It’s been raining for a few days, and it is predicted to rain every day for the next week. The other night we got 7.5 inches of rain which is extreme for our environment. We know others experience much more than that all the time, but what is normal in one place is unusual in another.
We then talk about praying for the lost and allowing God to guide into a deeper relationship with Him. We ask for prayers and remind people they can send their prayer requests to us through our website itookarighturn.com.
Our musical portion of the podcast begins with a rousing song we picked up from services at Family Worship Center; the home church of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries Got Any Rivers. We follow that with an old song that has blessed generations of believers and led multitudes to Christ, Jesus Got aholda My Life. Then comes a song that came to us from our time with R. W. Schambach following the Canvas Cathedral along the Sawdust Trail, Hallelujah Anyhow. This is a song which if we can keep it in our heart will help us whenever we feel as if the battle is too hard or the road too steep. Finally, we share another of our homegrown songs, one that was inspired by a time when we were conducting a Revival at Norther Arizona University, I Was a Dreamer.
Looking into God’s Holy Word we turn to Galatians 6. Robert is highlighting verse three but starting off in verse one. Here we learn about forgiveness and the practical side of doing onto others what we would have others do onto us.
We want to invite everyone to send us your miracle stories. Everyone who does will receive one of Robert’s books. We’re very excited about this new segment because we feel God has guided us into this expansion of the Podcast Ministry. Just go to itookarightturn.com and click on “Contact” and use the message system to submit.
Then Robert reads another poem from his second book of poetry, Floating Through Time, “Believing the Unbelievable.” Each episode this season includes a poem from this book.
The text of the readings from Robert’s book is posted the day after the release of each episode at www.itookarighturn.com All of Robert’s more than forty books are available in paperback, Kindle, and Audible through Amazon. As we have mentioned, Robert has begun releasing studio versions of his many songs. His first release, “There’s a Reason” is now live on all streaming platforms. This link will lead you to Robert’s newest song on Spotify.
