True salvation
is deliverance,
from our own self-will
and our worldly self-life
in exchange for God’s life.
Deliverance
from the power of evil
is not accomplished,
by merely,
“turning over a new leaf,”
or by
making a few
superficial changes
in how we live.
True deliverance
saves us from
the “I will”
that is the root of all sin.
Satan’s original
and most successful temptation
is that we can “be like God.”
Man’s greatest
and most destructive error
is the self-centered determination,
that we
are the lord of our life.
If Christ
is not Lord of all
He
is not Lord at all.
